Itchy heads … oh junk!

Last week, 3 students got sent home with head lice.  Kindergarten was canceled Thursday and Friday to get rid of those suckers.  Like always, everyone has itchy heads … thankfully, not all these itches come from lice.  I have been nervous about it, even though I am not really around those kids that got it a whole lot.  Today, the same 2 girls that had it were sent home AGAIN! Ugh … AND I got to take the Kindergartners to recess, the ones who are around those that have it again.  The whole time I was like, um, please don’t touch me … and trying not to touch my face and hair.  Gross, that is definitely something I do not ever want to experience.  The Kindergartners were crazy on the way to and from the playground.  Wow, I don’t think I could handle them all day.  I was trying so hard to be in control and get them in a stinking line to cross the street … I was so out of patience by the time I got back.  My poor 1st graders, they were probably wondering why Miss Kidd had ZERO patience today and was upset that they weren’t listening.  WE had a very serious talk about this! Lol … hopefully tomorrow my LAST DAY OF TEACHING will go better!  Yes, tomorrow Is my last day of teaching … from here on out (which is only till May 5th) I will be observing and lending a hand here and there.  It is quite exciting to see the end approaching!  I cannot wait to be done w/ all this crazy paperwork – it’s masses and masses.  L.U. should find a way to reduce that if at all possible.

On a happier note, spring has finally come to Korea.  The cherry blossoms, green trees and flowers are so pretty.  I miss seeing nature here in the “city” … I love spring time – beautiful colors and warmer weather.  I can’t wait to see more green when I get back to the States … it will be so nice!  AND I will have FRESH air and not highly polluted and infested with yellow dust.  People were masks here in order to not breathe in the gross air … fresh air will be so refreshing! : )

I have news - BIG news!!

I have accepted a job in Lisbon, Portugal teaching 1st grade at an MK school (their website is: http://glcaportugal.abwe.org/Home.aspx)!!  I am super excited - it's great seeing how the Lord works things out!!  He is soo good.  All this time I was worried about what the next step should be and He just brought this school to me!!

I will need your prayers though - there will be so many changes and new things taking place.  I'm excited about learning about a new country, culture and language ... but it is also a bit scary!  Another thing to be in prayer for is that I will be teaching something that I have not studied - so I will need wisdom in being a good teacher for first graders!! :)  It should be loads of fun though.  Also, I need to raise support, so that is a huge prayer request.  I would really appreciate all your prayers and support for that!!  I will keep you guys updated!!

Have a blessed weekend!

So, it's been forever since I have written ... soo sorry!!  Things have been rather busy.  Student teaching has been going well.  I really feel like I am getting the hang of teaching.  It's so much fun.  I'm getting really excited about going out and getting my own job!  This brings me to my next subject - I need your prayers for wisdom for future decisions.  I have found some schools overseas that I am really interested in teaching at.  I would have to raise support and I am still needing to figure out where the Lord wants me to go.  I know HE will bring it all together when the timing is right and He will provide for everything ... it's just a matter of being patient!  It's so amazing to see how He provides and makes things clear!!  I love that!
My time in Korea is running away .... I have less than three weeks left.  It is crazy how fast this semester has gone!  It's going to be so sad going away ... I will miss all my new friends and students!  At the same time, I'm getting really excited about seeing my family and college friends - my feelings are bitter sweet ... God has blessed me so much while I have been here and I know He will continue to do that!  He is soo good to us!
Here is a pictures of my students and new friends in Korea ... how I will miss them ...
